Jeff Markowitz is the author of the Cassie O'Malley Mysteries, humorous mysteries set deep in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Jeff loves to write early in the morning. "You can usually find me at my computer at 5:30 in the morning," he says, "plotting someone's murder."

Jeff holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Princeton University and graduate degrees in special education and human services.  For more than thirty years, Jeff has worked in the non-profit sector, developing services that enhance quality of life.  Recently he discovered that he has something of a flair for killing people.  In 2004, Jeff introduced tabloid reporter and amateur sleuth Cassie O'Malley in Who is Killing Doah's Deer?  Cassie returned in 2006 in A Minor Case of Murder.  Now Cassie is back to investigate a double homicide at the Mall of New Jersey in the Christmas mystery, It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Murder (coming from Five Star in October 2009).

Jeff is a proud member of Sisters in Crime and the Mystery Writers of America.
